A. Our sea moss is sourced from St. Lucia and Guyana
Q. What are your store hours?
A. Wylde Olivia Inc is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am - 5pm PST. All orders will be processed within 1-2 business days (not including our closed business days).
Q. Which selection do you recommend?
A. We suggest selecting one of the fruitless choices as they contain the most amount of sea moss with small amounts of other organic additives (the plain sea moss contains only sea moss and water). To experience the maximum benefits, any of the fruitless options is the way to go. The fruit options are delicious (and organic) but please keep in mind that they contain less sea moss due to the addition of the fruit. They also have a shorter shelf life.
Q. Will the flavors be consistent each time?
A. No. Each jar is made to order and when an order is requested and flavors are not measured to an exact degree. While we do our best to ensure that each flavor mirrors your previous order, please understand that the flavors may vary slightly due to the availability of the organic fruit options (one store may be out of a specific brand and thus we have to restock using another brand) and measurements will vary as everything is made to order. If you are ever unsatisfied with reorder, please contact us immediately so that we may attempt to do our best to resolve your issue.
Q. How do you use sea moss gel?
A. You can eat sea moss gel straight from the jar with your tablespoon or you can add it to you favorite smoothie, tea etc. All variations can also be used as a face mask (all of the fruit is organic and contains various benefits) while the plain versions can be applied directly onto one’s skin to provide relief from sunburn, heat rash and eczema flare-ups. Instructions come included with each jar.
Q. Should you continue using your multivitamin while eating sea moss?
A. Personally, I stopped taking my multivitamins because sea moss is so jam packed with so many essential minerals that it actually offers more than a multivitamin. I suggest asking your doctor but if you decide to just proceed with sea moss and your multivitamin, just keep in mind that sea moss is very rich in iodine (and a multivitamin will likely also contain iodine in the form of potassium iodide or sodium iodide) so be mindful of your daily intake as too much iodine can have negative side effects. The suggested daily amount of iodine for adult males and non pregnant women is approximately 150 micro-grams.
Q. How long does sea moss gel last?
A. The plain versions of sea moss gel last refrigerated for approximately 3-4 weeks while the fruit infused options last refrigerated approximately 1.5-2 weeks. Please note that these are approximations. Your jars may last longer depending on how it is stored/maintained. All sea moss gels can be frozen for 3 months minimum (although hopefully your jars are gone long before then😊).
Q. How should sea moss gel be stored?
A. Sea moss gel should be refrigerated and placed in a glass jar to maintain its maximum freshness and potency. When freezing it, it is okay to store it either in a freezable glass jar or a freezable liquid storage bag. *If you purchase two jars (or a jar and a freezable bag), refrigerate the jar that you intend to consume first and freeze the other one.
Q. How should I thaw my frozen sea moss?
A. We recommend placing it in your refrigerator for 1-2 days (or until it has thawed) to allow it to liquefy. Afterwards, whether the gel is in a bag (to be poured into a jar) or a jar, simply give it a good stir to blend the contents again and then enjoy!
Q. How should the sea moss scrubs be stored?
A. The scrubs can be left out on a counter (or in your shower) as all of its contents are non-perishable. Just make sure to keep the lid tightly secured to avoid water getting inside the scrub.
Q. How should I maintain my glass jar?
A. Please make sure to keep the lid tightly sealed whenever its contents aren't being consumed. To prevent/reduce bacteria growth, please be sure to keep the top portion of the jar clean by wiping it with a towel should you see sea moss on along the rim. Also be sure to keep you lid clean and free from the gel. By giving both of these a good wipe after each use and by keeping the lid closed tightly, you should be able to maintain your jar for quite a long time.
Q. Is it safe for pregnant women and/or children to eat sea moss?
A. It is not recommended that pregnant or nursing mothers eat sea moss due to the high amount of minerals contained within sea moss. Children over the age of 12 months should be OK (the majority of the products contain honey and pediatricians recommend waiting until the child is 12 months to start them on honey). As a precaution, we recommend checking with your pediatrician first to make sure that your little one is not allergic to sea weed or any of the jars contents.
Q. Are there any negative side effects associated with consuming sea moss?
A. Please refer to the side effects section tab.
Q. What is your policy on returns?
A. Due to COVID19, returns are not accepted. If you are experiencing any issues, please send us an email and we will get back to you with a resolution as quickly as possible.
